Classic Albums Live performs Led Zeppelin’s “Zeppelin II” live on the Avalon stage…Note for note, cut for cut.
Released in 1969, “Led Zeppelin II” is the second studio album by the legendary English rock band, Led Zeppelin. The critically acclaimed blues/metal album features some of the band’s most enduring, hard-driving classics, including “Whole Lotta Love,” “Ramble On,” “Heartbreaker,” and John Bonham’s epic drum solo on “Moby Dick”.
In addition to its inclusion in the book “1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die,” Spin magazine ranked “Zeppelin II” number 5 on its 25 greatest albums of all time, while it comes in at number 75 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
Founded in 2003 by Craig Martin, Classic Albums Live takes the greatest albums and recreates them live on stage using the best musicians.
“Think of it as a recital,” says Martin, “these albums are historic and stand the test of time.” Forgoing costumes and impersonations, Classic Albums Live has found success in concentrating solely on the music. “We don’t dress up or wear any sort of costume. We just stand there and play. All of our energy is put into the music. We want the performance to sound exactly like the album,” says Martin.
