In conjunction with Easton’s May Day weekend celebration, join us for a fun hour of tablescape design with Roses and Rosé. Dede Hoopes from Chesapeake Blooms will explore ideas on how to elevate your gatherings with loved-ones using many items you may already have at home. She will select simple vases, unique garden roses and cheese boards to work with the artfully selected wine chosen by the Avalon. Everyone will enjoy tasting sipping endless Rosé while designing their own bud vase of blooms as part of the overall design. Your small vase of flowers will be a beautiful takeaway to have on your table as you dine in historic downtown Easton Friday evening or enjoy the Glen Miller Orchestra inside the Avalon Theatre.
Dede Hoopes is owner and lead designer of Chesapeake Blooms, in downtown Easton. The shop was opened back in April 2019. Dede's background was horticulture before starting the shop; and sustainably grown blooms from her own gardens and other local flower farms are a big part of the Chesapeake Bloom's core values. Continuing education has been very important to Dede and she has completed the Master Gardener program in Maryland, continuing education courses at Longwood Gardens in both Horticulture and Floral Design as well as other intensive floral courses with designers such as Holly Chapple, Phillipa Craddock, and others. She also is an active member in the Talbot County Garden Club and various cut flower and design associations.
